I went back a previous version of mame, and that has fixed it. Thanks again mate.

I bet the problem is coming from catver.ini
Please have a look at this topic:

Ahhhh
I was using mgalaxy on my work computer when I first posted the other day. I could get the actual rom names to display with no problems at all. Now I am on my home computer, I can only get the shortened names to display. I believe I have followed the instructions properly

I'm going to summarize the steps needed to work with MAME in a tutorial to come...but here's the idea:
- Download and install MAME
- Download Catver.ini (http://catlist.mameworld.info/) & nplayers.ini (http://nplayers.arcadebelgium.be/)
- Put those 2 files (once extracted from the zip archive) in the same folder than the mame.exe application
- Launch mGalaxy_Ruway.
  Select MAME
  Check 'Activated'
Set your paths to application and snapshots.
Check 'Use database file (if available)
Click the 'Create database' button. (Confirm previous database erase & use of MAME's integrated database as database source...wait untill the database creation process is confirmed)
  Click on the 'Save' button

From there, everything should be working!!
and put the catver and nplayers files into my Mame folder, but when I boot Mgalaxy, it says "Filters returned an empty game list".

but I only want the roms I own to be listed
Call mGalaxy preference window (default key is 'Shift') then check 'Only show available roms' button.

First off so glad I've discovered mGalaxy. Looks great and seems easy to setup, so props for that.

I've had a bit of a search for an answer on here, but couldn't seem to find anything.

Only running Mame so far, and would like the roms to display in mGalaxy with their actual names, not the rom name, eg: wwfwfest displays instead of Wrestlefest, which I'd prefer.

I've adjusted the database file thing in Runway, which then will display the actual names, but I only want the roms I own to be listed, not every rom.

Hope that makes sense, and any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
