Example of Creating Vintage 80s Marquees

I'm unsure if I shared this every but for a while now I've used edited marquees for MAME and thought I'd share the idea here.

Basically, I'm adding a layer in Photoshop to resized marquees to emulate what it was like back in the 80s, with people's quarters up for next game and some stickers stuck to the marquee.

The idea was to only do it on some marquees. My goal was not to cover up that much of the marquee's original art. If it did, I left the marquee as is.

Maybe one day I'll create some alternate layers to mix it up, but of my 212 favorites, these aren't on that many.

FYI, I overlaid these on top of marquees resized (739 x 207) for mGalaxy's arcade cabinet theme.

Attached are 3 examples of what it looks like in game and the Donkey Kong marquee file itself. Donkey Kong was one of the very few that had enough gaps in the original art on the bottom to accommodate the layer.
