Hi, i was having the same problem and found a solution that worked for me. Try this..

1. Go into Options

2. Click Default Game Options

3. Click on Miscellaneous tab

4. Uncheck Save game state on exit box

5. Apply settings and hit OK

Hope this does the trick  :D

UGH!

I tried getting drastic and just removed the entire save state command text from the mame.ini completely, and it STILL works. Must be something in MAME.exe that I can't figure out how to access.

You can have another mame.ini in mame folder, not mame/ini.
You can have too special ini per game.

Nope. No other MAME.ini or other ini file that I can see. I just have mame.ini in the ini folder. I opened it and changed "autosave" to "noautosave", I changed "noautosave" to a value of 1 just to see.

Nothing worked. If I delete my STA folder, it gets recreated.

I tried running my MAME 175 mame.exe application to see if there's a setting in there, but I see no overall MAME settings in that GUI.

SO annoying

I am starting to get annoyed with a lot of my MAME 175 games starting from where I left off every time I load them again.

From the research I did, I found "autosave" in the MAME.ini file in my MAME 175/ini directory.

I set that to "0" but still it's continuing to happen.

Am I missing a secondary setting somewhere?
