UPDATE

Copied all Mame folder to mGalaxy folder, (only 2GB). Deleted "xmlout.xml", ran Mame. Exit. Ran mGalaxy and it worked, but I don't have any Snap files showing. They are in the folder, so time to go through the Forum and see what is sid bout that problem. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: so thats the snaps sorted now, all needed files taken from zip package and placed seperately in folder

Have a "xmlout.xml" file within my Mame folder. Looked in c:\Users\{username}\Appdata\Roaming, no mGalaxy folder, so I made one and copied the file into it. No joy. Uninstalled mGalaxy and reinstalled it to at first F:\ (where my Mame folder is), this never worked, so reinstalled to default location on the installer. This still did not work.

Am trying a few other things out now, will let you know how I get on.

I've done the test with Galaxy v2.0 and Mame v131 on my PC...and it works (under XP and Seven).
I suspect that the problem is not that mGalaxy can't see your roms folder but that the "xmlout.xml" file can't be written to your PC. This is the database containing the list of game roms.

This "xmlout.xml" file is located there:
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\mGalaxy (Win 7)
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data (Win XP)

Those folders are hidden by default.
To view them, go to Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Advanced > Show hidden files and folders

Could you please check that you can see this file?
Could you try to run mGalaxy in Administrator mode?

Could you please take a screenshot of your mame/mgalaxy folder, in detail view with (main) sub-folders open?

Or, if you want, send me a copy of your folder, with at least

1) The mame version that you're using
2) mgalaxy
3) rom folder with 1 rom inside

Rom list does not display at all. Roms folder is in Mame folder which hold mGalaxy and each version of Mame that I run. All roms are zipped. As soon as I change any conditions, it displays "Filter returns no results"

Can get MGalaxy to run but it will not find the roms I have. The other programs can find them OK, just MGalaxy not.

So, the rom list is displayed correctly...until you set "Show available roms only" to ON.. then this results to an empty list! Is that what you mean?
The only rule, for the roms to be found, is that the rom's folder must reside in the same folder than mGalaxy and mame...are those conditions met?
The rom files have to be .zip files, is this condition met?

When you want to run a game (with "Show available roms only" to OFF), does it launch?

Hi all, couple of things:

I have Mame (cmd line) 1.31, MameUI32 and 64 versions both 1.31. Can get MGalaxy to run but it will not find the roms I have. The other programs can find them OK, just MGalaxy not.

Any ideas?
